Can i solo crawmerax
Tried it again, not too hard. As far as weapons go, your loadout looks good. Hellfire is pretty much top tier for fire and an Orion Sniper for shock would be a nice pick up. Some tips: 1. When there're 3 purple lobsters left, task 1 is done. Crawx moves faster than the purple ones. Then it will turn left or right to pass.
You can hit its back now. Just kill it twice in different ways. I uploaded some pics about it. You can check it. I practice dancing around Craw sometimes. You need to stay by the rocks, if you loop around them Crawmerax will expose his back spot to you briefly. Sometimes he'll expose it longer than others, and sometimes not at all.
You'll have to learn which rocks. My biggest problem is usually the armored craws, just since they tend to take close to a magazine apiece. It takes a lot of practice and doing but once you learn the routes to make him expose his back, it's just patience. It's a lot more consistent once you pull that off. Going into Phasewalk will make Craw and all his minions lose track of you, giving you ample time to maneuver to a better position behind the rocks to try to make Craw expose his back as he rounds the rocks.
I use the cooldown reduction and Blackout, because after 1 or 2 kills I can phasewalk again, and that's extremely important in this fight. You won't move as far as you thought, or surprise Craw Maggot waiting behind the rock you were gonna use, or Crawmerax goes underground and doesn't pop up until you're out of Phasewalk.
If I'm not mistaken, though, Craw stays at level 72, so you're getting severe damage reductions. Posted by Leo Ascendent on 14 Mar 10 at Ok I'm sure anyone who farms this guy for good gear trys to do so with their character's plus whatever rare finds stuff. Has this happend to anyone else? Posted by DreamSmasher X on 21 Mar 10 at I figure since I farm him daily I would respond. We tested this the other day and these were the results.
Without them we got 0 rare weapons. I also found a pearlescent sniper in the armory by myself. So from all of the data I have personally collected the drops just seem totally random and little effects it. If you are looking to legit find the rare weapons the figures we are seeing come up on other sites and from personal experience is about 1 pearlescent drop for every rare orange guns you see. I know that is a wide range but it is the feedback I am getting from just about everyone. Few people have gotten lucky and had two pearl drop from their first craw kill, but I like just about everyone else, don't believe it until I see it with my own eyes.
Goodluck weapon hunters and feel free to hit me up on borderlands. Posted by Darksky on 21 Mar 10 at I am a lvl 61 soldier with no item mod. We have killed Craw about 15 times and we get oranges every time. We have never had a cyan pearlescent weapon drop. Posted by blomphil2 on 26 Mar 10 at I've gotta say, my hope for this strategy was dwindling, but persistence paid off.
I finally got him to glitch in the correct spot. My advice is to just keep trying until he glitches. Also, if you have a gun with reflecting projectiles the Madjack or one that is affected by gravity Leviathan, which is what I used , you can forgo using a second player entirely. This way, you can stay in the same spot, Craw will stay in the same spot, and you can either ricochet the bullets off the pillar to the left of Craw, or try to drop the Leviathan rockets onto his back.
Either way it takes some time to set up the aim make sure Aim Assist is off as well , but once you've got the correct angle, you'll be able to hit Craw's back no problem.
Worked wonderfully for me, but sadly no pearlescents. Posted by Octobot Super on 01 Apr 10 at I really wanna do this with friends by not glitching it but if it really is diffucult then i might not have a choice in the matter! Posted by RusticFlare on 29 Apr 10 at Managed to use this method with me and a friend at level Took a couple a tries, but thats because hitting him in the back became a problem, so eventually we did that first, which is what I recommend since thats where the majority of my restarts came from.
Good solution. Posted by Aura of Heroism on 18 May 10 at It was not to hard but it took a couple of tries. I didn't have anyone else to help me and I don't want to go online with modders, so this was my only choice. At least the only choice for me, I haven't found any great weapons yet, I have a few good ones but not good enough to take on craw and his crab boys.
Posted by shadowman1 X on 30 May 10 at Posted by zacattack on 13 Jul 10 at Can some one help me out wit this achievement? Posted by Seste on 21 Jul 10 at I was able to meet up with two people and we were able to beat crawmerax with a lvl 48 siren, lvl 55 hunter myself and a lvl 25 soldier.
I just invited them to a party then invited them to my game. As long as one person stays in the glitch spot and survives you can slowly wear him down.
Just be sure to share the loot and say thanks. Posted on 21 Aug 10 at I'm only 51, but when I get back to this game it'll be pure online with randoms.. This worked very well. Went from Level 63 to Level 64 just killing the worms around Crawlermax to give my decoy a little bit more breathing room.
Decoy actually landed the kill shot. Thank you for this awesome solution. Posted by Tearstone on 24 Mar 12 at I thought I might of been able to do this with my 52 Solider.
I'm an idiot. Posted by FrustratedNerd on 27 Jun 12 at How in the fuck do you do this legitimately? Fucking pathetic. Good job Gearbox, you better not do any shit like this in Borderlands 2. Posted by zoidberg on 14 Sep 12 at Hello me and my friend are level 43 at the moment and already have the Crawmerax quest if anyone wants to help us kill crawmerax real quick then that would be great.
Awesome solution. But was painfully frustrating to get. The normal advice is to kill those guys immediately because they zip around and are annoying af, and tend to bounce you around at the worst times. The armored worms are much slower and easier to corral and keep track of. That what I am taking about.
I love soloing Craw with different gear. Been farming for a solid DVL Volcano, prefer it to a firehawk. Only takes 1 to to crits paired with a Specialist CoM to kill a Craw worm. As another said, kill the shock ones on sight. The green ones too. The purple worms are slow, easy to second wind off of, utterly harmless if you are circling the pillars right and jumping a lot, and leave you to focus on Crawmerax.
